Infant Feeding
Our pediatric physiotherapists, Lara, Natalie, Jacqueline, and Laura, have additional training in infant feeding. In the initial assessment, we have a holistic and whole body approach to treating tension in the body and oral ties. Your physiotherapist will assess your infant’s latch, tongue mobility, feeding mechanics, tension, and gross motor skills.
When is an infant feeding assessment recommended?
If your little one is having difficulties feeding (bottle or breastfeeding), weak or painful latch, poor suction, pain while breastfeeding, difficulty gaining weight, has been diagnosed with a tongue/lip/cheek tie, are scheduled for a release of the oral tie(s), have been prescribed “body work” before or after a release, tension in the body, then pediatric physiotherapy can support your little one’s feeding journey!
